What is Denmark ASR?The Advanced STEM Research Club, or ASR, is a non-profit research organization that has been established by two students at Denmark High School. Upon enrollment in the club, students are presented with two potential options regarding their STEM project development- our research project pathway and the volunteer research/internship/mentorship pathway. Our research department provides students with access to contacts of undergraduate students, world-leading professors, companies, and experts in their respective fields. If a students wishes to pursue their projects to a further extent, ASR assists with the submission of respective work to various competitions, which can prove to be monumental to the advancement of a student's project. If a student elects to go through the research/internship/mentorship pathway program, our community service department presents students with an opportunity/path to volunteer all the while doing something they love. Whether the student is developing a project to submit at a competition, conducting volunteer research, or taking part in an internship, they will have the amazing opportunity to contribute to society and acquiring valuable skills along the way. What Will Happen At Each Meeting? The meeting agenda will vary depending on the current progress being made on projects, so please keep a look out for meeting times and dates on this website and remind! Meetings will occur every 2 weeks. At the beginning of the meeting, officers will discuss current agenda and inform club members of any upcoming events, tasks, or deadlines. Students will then work on their specific project, in a collaborative atmosphere where both officers and other club members assist with developing projects. Every so often, guest speakers will attend meetings to provide club members with valuable information and advice regarding their field of study/profession. |
Why Should You Join ASR?Our aim is to offer a resource for club members to share, collaborate, and develop ideas regarding research projects that could be submitted to a variety of competitions. These projects would range from technology, engineering, medicine, and various other STEM-related fields. This provides students with an amazing opportunity to view how researchers work in the real world, as well as an immense platform to develop and refine their skills in many areas. An additional goal of our club is to provide students with resources which will provide them with exposure to the STEM field, such as real-world professionals specialized within the field that work within local organizations. By providing students with access to mentorship/internship opportunities, we will be able to help them make significant advancements in their field of interest, better preparing them for college and the professional world. In addition, to enhance your high school experience, ASR serves as the perfect complement to other national organizations, such as HOSA and TSA. Advanced STEM Research truly is a club like no other, as we will equip students with a plan especially personalized to help develop each student's project and further advance their skills in the emerging field of STEM and beyond.
